Are Hurricanes Increasing in Number and Intensity?

The Aqua Net Martyrs' Brigade says yes, but the data analyzed by Seixon says no:

In summary: number of storms possibly increasing over the last 100 years (note the possible bias of technology), intensity has decreased the last 100 years, wind speeds are at historical averages.

I should note that a quick look at his graphs indicated the trend analysis may be off---variation is huge. I'll be looking at the raw data myself later to see what may be teased out (and to annoy WordGirl, who hates seeing graphs on the blog).
