I've got a degree in military history, and I can assure you that military historians maintain much higher standards than journalists or even historians in other concentration areas in this regard.

The ability of bloggers with specific expertise to spot minor and major errors in any written work is nothing new to the military historian, given the number of grognards who are absolute sticklers for historical accuracy. (And thank God for them!)
