Are Journalists More Credible Than Government Officials?

Patrick Fitzgerald thinks so---he's trying to send "Scooter" Libby to jail for up to 10 years based on one indecipherable scrawled note made by the memory-challenged Time journalist Matt Cooper.

Now call me crazy, but hasn't the LWM repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to lie, obfuscate, and fudge if it would possibly hurt the Bush Administration politically?

Would anyone but a D.C. jury made up largely of Bush-haters actually consider this to be evidence of perjury?
