Dubya's Downfall
John Podhoretz has a must-read postmortem.
I must admit that the Left was correct concerning many of Dubya's flaws, if wrong in degree, or in comparison to the awful, arrogant, incompetent men they put forth in 2000 and 2004.
Compared to Gore and Kerry, Dubya was the better choice. But not by a mile, sadly, by a nose. By a nose.

Teflon, based only upon "subject to funding" language hidden in the Senate's aborted "amnesty bill" recently and his father's infamous cave-in on the "read my lips..." pledge, I fully expect George W. Bush to get behind a senate tax increase before he leaves office.
Alas, Bush's only lasting legacy will be his SUPCO appointments - reason enough to have voted him into office, in my opinion.
