The Left Wing Media has perniciously refused to show the conflict in its proper light. The Sunni minority has made common cause with Syrian Ba'athists, Iranian intelligence, and their fellow Sunnis in Al Qaeda to create the insurgency. They expect to be restored to power. It remains to be seen whether the Iranians calling the shots in Iraq would tolerate such a thing---I suspect they would, as they could always whip up the Shiite majority if their pet dogs amongst the Sunni ruling class slipped the leash.
