The State of Moral Play, 2007
Judge Dr Ruth Westheimer---whoops, Ruth Bader Ginsburg---says everything's great now that Democrats rule Congress.
With one in five pregnancies ending in abortion, it's no wonder she's happy.
Meanwhile, the Christian Right fiddles as the GOP prepares to nominate someone who'll put more Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court.
The Republican Party can always be counted upon to set new standards of political stupidity. Driving the Catholics who made up the winning margin of the Reagan coalition out of the GOP (they were only drawn there by the party's staunch pro-life views) and back to the Democrats (where at least the economic policies and lip service concern for the poor are palatable to Catholics) is the dumbest political maneuver since Michael Dukakis climbed in that tank.
