I Stand Corrected

Last night, Pastor Rick Warren did indeed ask Obama an abortion question---"When do babies get human rights?" He even provided a statistic---40 million abortions in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade. He did not press Obama on his evasive non-response (McCain's response: "At conception.") but this could have been due to the format. I disagree with the notion that abortion in the U.S. should have been given less weight than slavery in the Sudan among Obama's responses, but Warren did force Obama to answer an abortion question and that is no small thing in a campaign where everyone Obama encounters asks variations of the "Why are you so wonderful?" question.

Kudos to Warren for doing his duty by God. Kudos to McCain for recognizing that duty, whereas Obama is too wed to his own ambition to do so.
