1 Day Left Until the "Rear Echelon" Blogathon Makes the Karpal Tunnel Community's Day
MoltenThought's "Rear Echelon" Blogathon to support the Armed Forces Relief Trust is nearly upon us. A few short hours from now, WordGirl and I will arise from our respective underground lairs and take our stations before the virtual oars of the metaphorical Roman slave galley we'll be propelling for the next 24 hours.
Why do we row?
For the troops, of course---American soldiers, sailors,Marines, and airmen, fighting for freedom and democracy in every Third World hellhole where terrorism takes root.
The folks that took the limb-removing hacksaws out of the Taliban's hands. The people who hunted down Saddam Hussein, butcher of millions, and plucked him from his rathole to face the people he tortured and enslaved. You know: the good guys.
Hitting the tip jar at the right will contribute to the Armed Forces Relief Trust, an umbrella group feeding the various service branch aid societies, which provide financial relief and services to our troops and their families. They're laying their lives on the line for us---surely we can put our lunch money on the line for them.
For every $25 you contribute, click on WordGirl or my name at the right and drop us an e-mail dictating what you want us to post (within reason---I'm not going to destroy the solemnity of the occasion by posting profanity-laced sea ditties, my friends). Put "You owe me" in the subject line if you'd like. We'll pay off with a contractual obligation post on your topic within 5 days of the event.
Please join us tomorrow (or tonight), Saturday, July 2nd, from midnight to midnight, as we blog our black hearts out in support of this wonderful cause.
And if you need extra motivation, just think how mad Michael Moore, Tim Robbins, and George Soros will be when he finds out about this.
I bet it'll even make Dick Durbin cry.
Thanks to Brainster for another Blogathon plug.
