My NetFlix Queue
Man, I love NetFlix. Fast turnaround, lots of movies to choose from, keep them as long as you like, and you can have 5 out at one time for $29.95 a month.
Here are the movies I've seen in the last 30 days through NetFlix:
Spartan - David Mamet does action
Ghost Story - much lamer than I'd remembered
Word Wars - Scrabble geeks are the target audience for bullying by comics geeks
Blazing Saddles: 30th Anniversary Special Edition - funny, funny, funny
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - very tense, every bit as scary as I'd recalled
City of God - about life in Brazilian slums, riveting
Laurel Canyon - complete disappointment, and Kate Beckinsale is the worst actress
The Corrs: Live in London - Andrea Corr...hmmm.
M - overrated. Way overrated
Live from Austin - Susan Tedeschi is now WordGirl's favorite singer
Chopper - Eric Bana is amazing in this Australian biopic
Gallipoli - Gripping story of the ANZACs in WWI
The Machinist - Christian Bale is amazing as a haunted metalworker
Straw Dogs - Peckinpah's masterpiece, derided for misogyny by those who miss the point
Danny Deckchair - dumb, but Miranda Otto's quite good in it
Garden State - quirky, fun little movie where Natalie Portman plays neither stripper nor whore
A Man for All Seasons - great movie, biopic on Sir Thomas More
House of Sand and Fog - solid movie which stays the right side of melodrama---but do you think they might feed Jennifer Connelly?
Primer - excellent low-budget indie film; "Rocky" for geeks
