Weekend Photoblogging - Churches
WordGirl and I thought it might be fun to hone our photography skills by picking a topic and taking photos over several Saturdays with a similar theme. We've chosen to start with churches, as they seem to come in a near infinite variety of sizes, shapes, and styles.
So before sunrise this morning, WG and I hit the road for our first stop, a decent-sized suburb. Sure enough, we found several churches within a few blocks of where we parked the car. Click on each to enlarge.
The first one establishes we were indeed out befure sunup.
If you look closely, you can see the sun beginning to light the sancruary through the stained glass window.
There's just something about that purple cloth draped over the cross during Lent.
Couldn't resist this one, although it was very cold and wet getting the shot.
WG and I got a kick out of this sign.
Beautiful.
Here's our postcard candidate.
Cold and wet again. But worth it.
Sums it up, doesn't it?
We have no idea yet what if anything we'll do with the images we keep. We're using it as an exercise in creative composition and exposure for now.
