Hugh Hewitt Bags Another Lefty Academic
It's like fish in a barrel over on The Hugh Hewitt Show:
If I were Paul Campos, I'd cop a plea on this one.
Now if only Hugh would get Arlen Specter to come on and interrogate him about how the RINOs are destroying the GOP majority, we could really cheer him on.
HH: A couple of weeks ago, I blasted the homeland security allocation for New York. Significant?
PC: Sure.
HH: I opposed the ports deal. Significant?
PC: Yeah, sure.
HH: I opposed the University of Michigan briefs, because of their defense of adversity as a compelling state reason. Significant?
PC: Sure.
HH: I opposed the Steelers going to the White House. Significant?
PC: The Steelers?
HH: Yeah.
PC: Why did you oppose the Steelers going to the White House?
HH: National embarrassment. But I digress. In any event, I point out. So obviously, that's not true what you wrote. I would not find something good to say about compulsory late term abortion. But much more importantly, I haven't claimed that Haditha is a product of liberal bias. What did you base that on?
PC: Well, you posted something on your blog a few days ago in which you've essentially argued that...I mean, you did use the phrase media frenzy.
HH: Oh, I'll read what I wrote. The media frenzy around the actions of a handful of Marines is now building, and as happened with the illegal acts at Abu Ghraib, will be used to advance agendas unrelated to allegations, agendas which trade on the slander of the American military, and which use the very rare exceptions to paint broadly, even as the enemy will. It mentions media frenzy, but it doesn't say anything about liberal bias driving this story.
PC: Well, I think that's strongly implied, though, what you're saying there, though.
HH: It's not implied in the least that it's liberal bias. It's, in fact, the media frenzy...there is a media frenzy on the way about this. It's all over everywhere, it's non-ideological. It will be driven extensively, as was Abu Ghraib, and it will be used to advance agendas unrelated to the allegation. Did you see...did I say something else? Have you ever seen me mention that liberal bias was doing this?
PC: Well, you have talked a lot about liberal bias in the mainstream media.
HH: But not on the Haditha story. I talk about the media frenzy. I think that's just wholly made up. I don't think Glenn's arguing it, either. I mean, there's no evidence here.
If I were Paul Campos, I'd cop a plea on this one.
Now if only Hugh would get Arlen Specter to come on and interrogate him about how the RINOs are destroying the GOP majority, we could really cheer him on.
