One Step Forward, Two Steps Back for Presbyterian Church
And here I thought that surely no other American Protestant church could be as stupid as the Episcopal Church.
Larry Rued e-mails that the Presbyterian General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to strike down the Israeli divestment effort:
That's a good thing.
Then they turn around and open the door to ordaining openly homosexual clergymen.
Stuck on stupid.
Here's a couple of questions sure to infuriate the so-called religious Left:
Would you ordain someone engaged in an openly adulterous affair?
Would you ordain someone who is addicted to heroin?
Would you ordain someone who is a kleptomaniac?
If not, why not?
We are all sinners, but it seems to me that churches which ordain unrepentant sinners have lost their way.

I wish to extend my appreciation to those who have helped us in the Presbyterian Church USA replace the Israel divestment resolution approved in 2004 with a much more even handed resolution regarding affairs in the Middle East.
That's a good thing.
