I think this is the first of many missteps that will prevent John McCain from getting the GOP nomination.

He should be working to ameliorate conservatives, not to divide them.

But amelioration had never been his strong suit.

A word to the wise for any conservatives hooking up with the McCain campaign: those who handle snakes often get bitten.
