Studies Prove Statisticians Can Be Bought

Thomas Sowell has an excellent multi-part series on "what studies prove".

When I was teaching statistics to business leaders, I would throw out the following line during the first day:

"Studies show 72% of all statistics are completely made up."

It was a good way of gauging who was paying attention. Sad to say, only one or two would get it.
