Is Conservatism Dead?
The Left hopes so, but the facts (thankfully) seem otherwise.
If the GOP runs another RINO in 2008, though, we may well be finished for this generation.
It's inexplicable---Americans routinely self-identify as conservatives by 3:1 margins over liberals (when was the last time you heard a Democrat call himself or allow himself to be called a liberal?), yet Republicans can't seem to find any to run at the top of a ticket.

The GOP needs to stop being the party of big business and start being more of a populist party. They seem to cater to big business at all costs, even at the expense of the average American.
Examples include the eagerness with which they encourage offshoring of jobs, their laissez-faire immigration position, and their lobbyist-loving tendencies. Heck, I like lower taxes, but I don't see that much benefit in it as a middle-class American. Even with that conservative issue, they appear to be for the rich, the elites, and big business.
I'm conservative, but I'm starting to lean more towards the Blue-Dog Democrats. They're probably less dimissive and destructive than the elitist Republicans right now.
The Republicans had it all -- the Presidency, the House, and the Senate. They got greedy and got stupid and frittered it away.
