Frank Miller, Patriot
I've long been a Frank Miller fan, ever since the comic book artist and writer debuted in the pages of Daredevil and completely transformed a Marvel Comics B-player into a major draw.
I've followed his groundbreaking work on "Batman: The Dark Night Returns", "Batman: Year One", "Sin City", "300", and just about every other piece he's graced the fanboys with.
9/11 completely transformed the neurotic liberal in much the same way WWII transformed a prior generation of writers and illustrators in comics' Golden Age.
Read this, then do yourself a favor: go to a comicbook store and get yourself any of the collected trade paperbacks of Frank Miller's work. You won't regret it, and you'll be putting coins in the pocket of one of American culture's true superheroes in the process.
