In Rhode Island

WordGirl and I have made it safely to Rhode Island and are currently gorging ourselves on Portuguese, Italian, and seafood.

The trip was the typical hellish jaunt---relatively quick and easy drive up to New Jersey, then absolute bumper-to-bumper bladder-busting endurance test up to the Tappan Zee Bridge, a 20-minute respite until picking up I-95 in Connecticut, then another 2 hours of absolutely inexplicable crawling traffic before a swift shot through RI.

Needless to say, by the time we hit our hotel we were pretty beat. Not beat enough to prevent us from immediately tearing out to Sparky's weinie joint for Rhode Island's contribution to international cuisine---the hot wiener and the coffee milk.

I'll let WordGirl share her perceptions of that.

If all goes well, we should be heading back Fri morning with a cooler full of Portuguese sausage and other goodies. We'll also use this for a special MoltenCast this coming weekend.

I had no idea Rhode Island had such a diverse population.
