Breaking News: The Pope Is Catholic

And the press is biased against Catholics, if coverage of this Vatican letter is any indication.

Let me summarize this for you:

1. Just because the Pope is emphasizing ecumenical outreach to fellow Christians does not mean the Catholic Church is "lightening up" on the whole Magisterium and Apostolic Succession thang.

2. Just because you claim to worship Christ and have some building you meet in does not make you the Church of Christ in the eyes of the Catholic Church.

3. The Catholic Church IS the Church of Christ, founded by Christ, with Peter its first Pope, in an unbroken succession from Pentecost to today's Mass.

Perhaps you find this all terribly controversial. It shouldn't be. The Pope is a Catholic, after all.
