1% Does Not A Majority Make
Fred Thompson fell on his face in New Hampshire. Period.

Your title is indeed true. However, please keep in mind that Sen. Thompson did not campaign in NH, rather choosing to spend the limited time available in SC where he has a better chance of doing well.
Full Disclosure - I am "FredHead", but I can/will support the Republican candidate (whoever it is)over the Democrat.
The problem with the Thompson strategy is that the compression of the primary calendar means the early primaries have MORE importance, not less, since there's less time between them and the rest of the country's primaries.
As a result, Thompson goes into SC with conservatives feeling he may be unelectable based on Iowa and NH nonperformance.
1% is pathetic---Fred should have done much better given the number of disaffected conservatives.
And I say that as a Fredhead myself.
Last night's debate performance may help; fire in the belly this week sustained through Super Tuesday will help significantly.
