Drinking a Woodchuck Cider, You?

Just a mite too beery for my taste, but still, not bad in all.

Tef's downstairs making a fabulous dinner for us and watching "The Flash" on DVD -- easily the cheesiest of the 90's comic-cum-TV-series to get the shaft.

I'm up to my eyeballs at work. And now that I have a green assistant to dazzle, I have to constantly look busy and efficient, which means... no day blogging. Tef's busy fighting zombies at "The Urban Dead" and blogging himself nights so I really don't have too much time to devote to you, dear reader... She said rather humbly...

Reading about 15 books right now. I could bother to link them though Amazon, but won't. Just copy/paste the titles if you're interested. The dinner bell will be shortly ringing. And I don't want to be caught not doing something wifely.

"What's Your Poison? Addictive Advertising of the 40's-60's," by Kirven Blount. Iconic art ads that will truly amaze you. Doctors selling smokes, celebs slurping booze. Too interesting not to make one ponder the unflinching cyclops of capitalism.

(Okay it's not really a book but...) "Happy, Kitty, Bunny, Pony Journal." Way too girly and retro (and almost nauseating) not to own. Courtesy of Tef, of course.

"Orthodoxy," GK Chesterton. *Hmph* Well, obviously.

"Lenten Lands: My Childhood with Joy Davidman and CS Lewis," by David Gresham.

"The Everlasting Man," GK Chesterton.

"C.S. Lewis: Letters to Children," Lyle W. Dorsett & Marjorie Lamp Mead, Editors. HIGHLY recommended. It reveals so much about Lewis; charming, endearing; makes me love him more, if that's actually possible.

"The Fruit of Her Hands: Respect and the Christian Woman," by Nancy Wilson. Sort of a handbook on the roles and "rules" of Christian wifehood. This, I am studying intently. For all my sass and lip, I'm still an old-fashioned girl. My highest priority is making a stable and happy home for my husband and myself. To me, there is no greater calling than this. No, seriously.

"Chuck Dugan is AWOL: A Novel With Maps," by Eric Chase Anderson. Too much fun not to read.

Went to church this morning. It was surprisingly good. They should let the Junior Pastors preach more. They're good. The Senior Pastor reminds me too much of a salesman for the home office. He's good when he's not busy being all plastic and plugging for the Man.

Getting ready for Lent. Not really certain as to all that I'm giving up. Definitely Amazon purchases and ice cream. Anything else is negotiable. But don't worry, I'm not going vegan again this year. After last's year's illness... *bLeCh* But I will still probably do a juice fast on Ash Wednesday. Haven't done that in awhile. It'll be eye-opening, I'm sure.

Oh, go pick up Patty Griffin's, "Impossible Dream," if you get the chance. Her best effort in... well, ever, actually. I love listening to it in the car. The harmonies just jump out at me. Makes me want to pick up my guitar again.

Well, the dinner bell's ringing and I need another cider.

Later kids.
