This Ketchup Isn't Yellow

Back during the 2004 campaign, I discovered W Ketchup, and bought a case to distribute to friends who needed a reminder as to whose leadership would benefit America most (plus I liked to think it took money away from Jean Francoise Kerry's sugar mamma).

Today, I received the following e-mail from the company:

Eagle Bridge, NY — February 16, 2006 — W Ketchup announced today
that it has cancelled all advertising with Google, including both
search engine ads and content network ads. The company took this
step to protest Google's agreement to help the Communist regime in
China suppress liberty and free expression in that country.

Summing up the situation, Frida Ghitis in the Boston Globe wrote:
"Google knows more about us than the FBI or the CIA or the NSA or
any spy agency of any government. When a company that holds
digital dossiers on millions of people decides profits are more
important than principles, we are all at risk."

CEO Dan Oliver commented: "It's a rare day when the folks here at
W Ketchup agree with the Boston Globe, but when an American
company sells out democracy and liberty for a few bucks,
freedom-loving Americans everywhere should be appalled." Oliver
continued: "At a time when brave American soldiers are fighting
and dying to bring democracy to the Middle East, it is
particularly vile to see an American company colluding in the
support of tyranny and oppression. Google's motto,
'Don't be evil' apparently means something else when translated
into Chinese, perhaps: 'Sell principles for very good price.'"

Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) held a Congressional hearing
yesterday to investigate Google's activities, during which he
commented: "Cooperation with tyranny should not be embraced for
the sake of profits." W Ketchup calls on Congress to expand the
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act to include a ban on American
businesses assisting tyrannical governments. The basis of the
FCPA is that corporate bribery of foreign officials corrupts and
tarnishes the reputation and image of all American businessmen.
The activity in which Google engages corrupts and tarnishes the
reputation of all Americans.

Since the story was reported on January 25, Google's market
capitalization has fallen approximately 24%, or nearly
$31 billion.

W Ketchup continues to sell delicious, American ketchup to
freedom-loving Americans everywhere, and continues not to support
the Democratic Party and its liberal ideology. W Ketchup is
available on the internet at www.wketchup.com and in select
stores.

Founded in 2004, W Ketchup™ is a private company that makes
ketchup in America solely from ingredients grown in the USA and
does not support the Democratic Party.

I immediately went to the website and ordered another case. Just in time, too---we're on our last battle.

Kudos to Dan Oliver and the folks at W Ketchup---the perfect condiment for Freedom Fries.
