During Holy Week, let us not forget that there are Christian martyrs being created even now, who boldly proclaim their faith even in the face of monstrous evil.

There are those who would prefer we do forget---simply follow the comments to this previous MoltenThought thread for a particularly disgusting example.

Indifference to human suffering is the hallmark of the sociopath---we should all empathize with those who are not free to profess their faith, and who endure hellish torment for so doing. It is no small consolation that their tormentors will face God themselves soon enough.

Thank God we are blessed to live where we may freely discuss matters of faith, and to congregate together not in the bowels of the Earth, but in full sunlight. I believe that our Chinese and Cuban brothers and sisters will be similarly privileged within this generation, no thanks to those who apologize and prop up the evil regimes enslaving them today.
