Thanks
The big day is finally here, and that big ol' bird in the fridge is going to be converted into the world's largest sleeping pill over the next few hours.
Here are a few things I'm thankful for today:
1. The service of the men and women of the United States' armed forces. Thank you for keeping our nation safe, and for allowing families like mine to eat and rest securely today.
2. President George W. Bush. Thanks for extending that same security and freedom to the long-suffering peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq.
3. Righty bloggers. In addition to providing information, entertainment, and distraction from the workaday life, you've supported WordGirl and I in this effort. In particular, I'd like to thank Pat from Brainster's, Michelle Malkin, Noonz Wire, Hatless in Hattiesburg, Third Wave Dave, Vigilis from Lawyer Kickers Pro Bono, Lowell from Hedgehog, The Corner, Lance from Redstate Rant, Tracey from Worship Naked, and of course, blogfather Hugh Hewitt for the generous support and for the sound example they've provided this year.
4. You. We've got a great bunch of regular readers and commenters here, for which WordGirl and I are profoundly greatful. Thanks for your feedback, patronage, and most of all, thanks for reading what we write on this blog.
5. WordGirl. There was a time when I wondered whether I'd ever find someone with whom life would be fun and relatively uncomplicated; instead, I have been blessed with the best wife anyone could have asked for. Thank you for signing on for a lifetime membership in Teflon's Happy Crazy Funtime Whirl-A-Gig Club.
6. God. For I am truly unworthy, yet nonetheless truly blessed.
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all.

Happy Thanks Giving to you both. I think you're the greatest *righty* blog out there.
