Ee-Gads... High School
Thanks, T.
1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
I'm sorry, I do not recognize your gerund.
2) Did you have school pride?
*bwaaaaah!* Our football team was actually pretty good, but no.
3) Was your prom a night to remember?
Went to Junior Prom with a boy from out of town. We split a limo. He "forgot" to bring money for dinner. He also "forgot" to make any reservations, concessions, excuses or apologies. Guess he thought I'd pay. Which I did. At McDonald's. In my prom dress. So... memorable?
4) Do you own all 4 Yearbooks?
*sigh...* YES.
Why? I really couldn't say... I still have all my yearbooks from before high school as well.
5) What was the worst trouble you ever got into?
I set a trashcan on fire and got sent to after-school suspension. Or was it in-school suspension? I don't remember. I do remember sitting there with nothing to do; trying fiercely not to fall asleep. It was nothing like The Breakfast Club.
Though if it were, I'd be Ally Sheedy. Which is not really a fair trade. No one's Claire. Who could be Claire? I mean, sushi?! In high school?!
6) What kind of people did you hang out with?
Art and Drama people. Weirdos.
7) What was your number 1 choice of college in HS?
Any place as far away as I could get from home... technically within the borders of the state. Out-of-state tuition was not an option. I got accepted to a couple of places a few hours away. But it was too late. I'd already been accepted at my Mom and my sister's alma mater. (What's the plural of "alma mater"? And it's the same school, but the alma mater of two people. So... ? Would it be something like, "almae mater" instead of "alma maters"? Nevermind.)
I DID NOT want to go to this school. Especially since my sister was still attending as a Senior. And was also an officer in a *shudder* sorority. *gLuEiLgH*
But I'm glad I went.
I was also dragged kicking and screaming into the English Department (Mom's an English teacher).
Can't fight the genes, I guess.
Wait, what did I just say?
8) What radio station did you rock out to?
Radio was far too mainstream. I was too busy listening to underground weird and folk music.
9) Were you involved in any organizations or clubs?
I don't remember. I think Drama. I directed and produced, painted, designed and did all kinds of things, but I don't think there was a prerequisite to Belong to anything in particular. Which probably hurt my college apps, but I didn't care.
10) What were your favorite classes in high school?
English, drama, art, science
11) Who was your big crush in High School?
No one. I was too busy creating things and dating older guys. People my own age bored me to tears. Especially jocks. Give me a break.
12) Would you say you've changed a lot since high school?
Let me put it this way, no one recognized me at my reunion and I got voted, "Most Changed".
13) What do you miss the most about it?
Do I have to miss something? Um... no bills?
14) Your worst memory of HS?
High school.
15) Did you have a car?
Hand-me-down white Honda Accord. Every member of the family had driven it at some point. And wrecked it.
Did I total it? No.
Did I get any tickets? No.
Did I love it? Yes.
Did I drive it until the wheels fell off? Almost.
Senior year I got a used CRX. Loved. That. Car. I still love that car.Totaled it in college.
16) What were your school colors?
Black and gold
17) Who were your favorite teachers?
Mr M. -- Science. I had him for Physical Science, Anatomy & Physiology and Biology. He was the best teacher -- ever. He had a way of making things understandable. He was also a real person who treated his students like people. Great family guy as well. He brought in his wife's ultrasound pictures to teach us about human development. I got a perfect score on my state biology final because of him. Cool guy.
18) Did you own a cell phone in high school?
What's a cell phone?
19) Did you leave campus for lunch?
Every freaking chance I could. I'd sneak out and drive around for about 20 minutes and smoke, listen to the radio, drive back. Never actually ate.
20) If so, where was your favorite place to go eat?
See #19
21) Were you always late to class?
Eh.
22) Did you ever have to stay for Saturday School?
What's Saturday school?
23) Did you ever ditch?
Did. I. Ever.
24) What kind of job did you have?
Drug store cashier/pharmacy technician --sophomore to Senior Year.
25) Do you wish you were still in high school?
*blank stare*
