When Can We Vote for John Howard for President?
Here's some refreshing candor on immigration from Australia's PM:
He's got my vote. Why waste it on a GOP that's too chicken----ahem, intimidated to protect the rights of U.S. citizens?
Howard replied: "There's a small section of the Islamic population which is unwilling to integrate, and I have said, generally, all migrants have to integrate, and that means speaking English as quickly as possible, it means embracing Australian values and it also means making sure that no matter what the culture of the country from which they come might have been, Australia requires women to be treated fairly and equally and in the same fashion as men.
"And if any migrants that come into this country have a different view, they better get rid of that view very quickly."

Teflon, P.M. Howard's public position is singularly manly among all of his contemporaries. As you know, jihadis appreciate Howard's threat to their eventual caliphate and would asassinate him in an instant given the slightest chance.
Between now and 2008, I hope Newt will also embrace Howard's position giving me a candidate of suitable trustworthiness and quality.
Newt already stipulates English as one of his "11 American Values."
I think Newt's done at the national level, unfortunately. He's got Churchill's brain, but Clinton's morals, Kerry's looks, and lacks Giuliani's heroic 9/11 performance to mitigate either.
Plus his Speakership displayed all the earmarks of the dog who caught the car and didn't quite know what to do with it.
I am very grateful for Newt's vision, however, and hope he's on the speed-dial of the winning Republican presidential candidate.
